برخیز بتا بیا ز بهر دل ما، حل کن به جمال خویشتن مشکل ما

Rise, my love, come for the sake of our heart — solve our trouble with your own beauty.

امروز تو را دسترس فردا نیست، واندیشه فردات به جز سودا نیست

Today you have no claim on tomorrow — worrying about tomorrow is nothing but madness.

ضایع مکن این دم ار دلت شیدا نیست، کاین باقی عمر را بها پیدا نیست

Do not waste this moment, if your heart is not mad with love — for the rest of life has no fixed price.

این عقل که در ره سعادت پوید، روزی صد بار خود تو را می‌گوید

This reason that seeks the path of happiness tells you itself, a hundred times a day.

دریاب تو این یک دم وقتت که نه‌ای، آن تره که بدروند و دیگر روید

Seize this one moment of your time — you are not the herb that, once cut, will grow again.

بر من قلم قضا چو بی من رانند، پس نیک و بدش ز من چرا می‌دانند

Since fate's pen wrote upon me without me, why then is its good and bad ascribed to me?

زآن پیش که بر سرت شبیخون آرند، فرمای که تا باده گلگون آرند

Before they raid you by surprise in the night, call for them to bring the rose-red wine.

تو زر نه‌ای ای غافل نادان که تو را، در خاک نهند و باز بیرون آرند

You are no buried gold, O heedless fool, that once placed in the earth, you would be dug out again.

گردون ز زمین هیچ گلی برنارد، کش نشکند و هم به زمین نسپارد

The heavens raise no flower from the earth that they do not break and return again to the earth.

پرهیز مکن ز کیمیایی که از او، یک جرعه خوری هزار علت ببرد

Do not abstain from the elixir of which a single sip can carry away a thousand ailments.

یاران موافق همه از دست شدند، در پای اجل یکان‌یکان پست شدند

خوردیم ز یک شراب در مجلس عمر، دوری دو سه پیشتر ز ما مست شدند

وقت سحر است خیز ای طرفه پسر، پر باده لعل کن بلورین ساغر

It is the hour of dawn — rise, fair one, and fill the crystal cup with ruby wine.

کاین یک‌دم عاریت در این کنج فنا، بسیار بجویی و نیابی دیگر

This one borrowed moment, in this corner of oblivion — search as long as you like, you will not find it again.

با سرو قدی تازه‌تر از خرمن گل، از دست منه جام می و دامن گل

With a cypress-figure fresher than a harvest of roses, do not let go the cup of wine or the hem of the rose.

زان پیش که ناگه شود از باد اجل، پیراهن عمر ما چو پیراهن گل

Before the wind of death suddenly comes, and the garment of our life becomes like the garment of a rose.

ماییم که اصل شادی و کان غمیم، سرمایه دادیم و نهاد ستمیم

We are the very root of joy and the mine of sorrow, the wellspring of justice and the nature of tyranny.

پستیم و بلندیم و کمالیم و کمیم، آیینه زنگ‌خورده و جام جمیم
